Director Efren Gonzalez is making great strides in upgrading the Ajijic Casa De Cultura on the plaza via his art auctions and cultural events. One of his artistic efforts is the tree mural which he has painted on the left side of the entrance ramp. Anyone can be memorialized there by making a donation and having their name recorded for posterity. With increasing financial donations, they can have a leaf, mango, bird, or golden egg. The funds are dedicated to the remodeling of the building. Donations can be given at Efren’s gallery on Calle Marcus Castellanos.
We have met with the union, state human resources and representatives of the state department of health to air complaints about how the Ajijic Centro de Salud is operating. The outcome should result in the transfer of the nurse who screens patients like Nurse Ratched in the movie One Flew over the Cuckoo’s Nest.
We’re pleased to announce that our First Responders Assistance Group is bringing in its second multimillion dollar firefighting equipment donation from Canada. But, we are just scratching the surface of the needs here. If we could make connections in the US for donations, used or new, we can make arrangements to bring them into Mexico. We have proven we can do it. Can anyone connect us with US firefighters?
