Yesterday, for the second consecutive day, there were roadblocks and the burning of a trailer on federal highway 45 in Fresnillo, Zacatecas, in sections that connect with the municipalities of Río Grande and Calera. There were also reports of clashes between armed civilians, indicating the possibility of cartel clashes.
Zacatecas is the state bordering Jalisco to the north.
The State Spokesperson for Safety Construction confirmed that after 7 pm yesterday, a fire in the cabin of a double-trailer truck in the Municipality of Fresnillo was reported, in addition to the presence of metal stars known as “tire punches” in that location.
The three levels of government responded to the area.
The University of Zacatecas has canceled face-to-face classes for today, Monday.
