Workers on Francisco Villa and Flores Magón streets in Ajijic stopped working for about a week recently in order to let the concrete harden.
Seeing no workers, residents began to spread rumors about the stoppage of the projects, which began at the end of May in Francisco Villa street, and in mid-June in Flores Magón street.

According to the director of Public Works of Chapala, Francisco Lucas Perales, who said that the pause “was for the good of the work,” both street will be completed in mid-August

He said that the only thing missing now is the completion of the sidewalks on both streets.
There have also been complaints about the excavation at the end of Flores Magón street, where the stones surrounded by cement have not been placed yet. But Lucas said that the work will also be completed at the same time.
The residents of Francisco Villa Street were particularly annoyed by the delay in the work because the absence of sidewalks makes it difficult for them to enter to their homes when it rains. They also experienced inconvenience at the beginning of the work when water was cut off during the week to change drains and plumbing lines.
